A solitary raven commands this bold composition, perched vigilantly on a gnarled branch deep within an ancient pine forest. The bird's intense gaze captures every subtle movement around it, embodying raw alertness and primal awareness. Behind the figure, a verdant abstract backdrop evokes the dense woodland without surrendering to representational detail, allowing the raven to dominate the canvas. Strategic touches of blue and purple shimmer across the bird's form, celebrating the iridescent play of light on its feathers—a daring chromatic choice that transforms the raven's black plumage into something luminous and alive. Having completed a commission painting that involved three ravens, I was inspired to paint a series of them. The small-sized canvases are sure to be collectors' treasures.

I plan to paint twelve of them in series of three. So, each series of three will have its own character and look.
