I painted this Plein air painting on a favorite hiking trail in Camp Verde, Arizona. Ryal Canyon has fantastic views of Camp Verde and Sedona. This scene looks inward to a short view of the canyon instead of the expansive views when looking in the opposite direction. This was the first time I painted at this particular location on this trail. It's amazing how the energy of the scene changes depending on where I'm situated along the trail.
