This painting was inspired by a visit to a ranch with its expansive landscape vistas. The sun sets lighting up the pathway to a golden hue. Pure gold is how I describe this landscape.

I was experimenting with an encaustic technique using acrylic mediums. The process involves layers upon layers of paint and mediums embedding found objects. It's a lively way of painting - putting on paint with pallette knife and brushes, letting it dry, sanding it off, pouring a layer of medium on and letting it dry overnight. The results always make me giddy in the morning. The process would begin all over adding another layer each day until I was satisfied it was complete.
